Privacy Boost Comes to Startale App on Soneium: Bringing Onchain Privacy to the SuperApp

TL;DR: Privacy Boost is integrating into the Startale App on Soneium, bringing enterprise-grade onchain privacy to one of the most ambitious consumer crypto platforms. Startale Group has selected Privacy Boost as its official privacy partner.

Today, we're announcing our next deployment: Privacy Boost is coming to Startale App on Soneium,

But this goes beyond a chain deployment. Startale has selected Privacy Boost as its official privacy partner and will integrate it directly into the Startale App, a SuperApp designed to bring digital assets to mainstream consumers. This is Privacy Boost's first consumer-facing application integration, and a milestone for what onchain privacy can look like when it's built into a product real people use every day.

With Soneium also set to adopt Privacy Boost, the pattern is clear: OP Stack for scaling, Privacy Boost for privacy.

Why This Matters: Privacy Meets Consumer Crypto

Startale Group operates as both the builder of the Startale App, a SuperApp platform supporting asset storage, transfers, mini-apps, and digital payments and as a core contributor to Soneium, which is built by Sony Block Solutions Labs.

The Startale App is exactly the kind of product that makes the case for onchain privacy. Users hold real balances and make real transactions, but without a privacy layer, every transfer, every payment, and every balance is visible onchain to any observer. For a consumer financial app targeting mainstream adoption, that's a fundamental gap.

Privacy Boost resolves this gap. Its hybrid ZK + TEE architecture is designed for the throughput and latency that consumer products demand (sub-500ms proof generation and high throughput) so private transactions feel instantaneous within the Startale App. With Privacy Boost, Startale App users will be able to shield their assets, transfer privately, and spend from privacy-preserving balances all while maintaining full self-custody and regulatory readiness.

What the Integration Looks Like

The integration spans two layers:

Soneium Network Deployment. Privacy Boost's full protocol stack (smart contracts and TEE infrastructure) deployed natively on Soneium. Developers building on Soneium gain access to onchain private transfers as a network capability.

Startale App Integration. The Startale App will integrate Privacy Boost's SDK to offer privacy features directly within the consumer experience:

  • Shielding: Users deposit assets into the privacy pool, converting them into private onchain notes that conceal balances from public view.
  • Private Transfers: Users transfer assets within the pool without revealing amounts, balances, or counterparties.
  • Private Crypto Card Spending: Privacy-preserving flows designed to work with Startale's crypto card payments, so users can spend without exposing their full onchain activity.

As the Startale App expands into additional payment flows, the Privacy Boost integration is designed to extend alongside it — ensuring that new functionality ships with privacy built in from the start.

OP Stack + Privacy Boost: The Complete Enterprise Stack

Soneium is the only OP Stack chain to adopt Privacy Boost as its privacy layer after OP Mainnet. That's not a coincidence. Enterprises moving onchain need both scale and privacy: the OP Stack delivers the first, Privacy Boost delivers the second. Together, they form a complete infrastructure stack for chains that need to serve real users under real regulatory expectations.

With OP Mainnet and Soneium both live, OP Stack + Privacy Boost is emerging as the default privacy architecture for the Superchain — and we expect more chains to follow.

What's Next

The Soneium mainnet deployment is live as of today. The Startale App integration is targeted for June 2026. Developers building on Soneium can start exploring the Privacy Boost SDK and integration guides now:

Over the coming weeks, we'll share more on the integration timeline, Soneium-specific features, and additional partnership announcements.
